The Doublet Trophy (Pro-Am)

The Doublet Trophy (Pro-Am) is an 18-hole team Pro-Am charity fundraising event played in memory of Steven Doublet, a Member of The Wisley who joined shortly after its opening in 1991. He lost his life to cancer at the age of 33 in 1993. Proceeds go to the stewardship of The Wisley Foundation. We began playing a fundraising tournament in Steven’s memory four months after his death.

He loved all sports, especially football. Another passion was high-performance sports cars. These are reflected in the design of the trophy which his friends at the Club had especially commissioned. If you see the trophy on display on tournament day you will see how substantial it is. With its marble base and those large blue crystals, it’s surely a candidate for the heaviest golf trophy ever made.

The Pro-Am is a great day based around a team format of 2 scores from 4 to count per hole. The day will begin with a Clubhouse breakfast, then following play you’ll enjoy a fabulous post-round BBQ. The day will conclude with an awards presentation held on the Terrace.

The first step includes bidding for your Golf Professional. Once the teams have successfully bid for their Professional, the Calcutta teams will begin prior to the event.
