The Wisley Foundation
In 2009, The Wisley Foundation (“TWF”) was created to take a more strategic approach to the charitable funds raised by the Members of The Wisley Golf Club. Since then, with thanks to all Members and staff of The Wisley, TWF has been able to make grants and donations totalling over £1.2 million for the benefit of our local communities – a remarkable achievement for a golf club charity.
As a golf club charity, TWF is almost entirely dependent on the generosity of the Members of The Wisley, with 2 main events for the benefit of TWF each year: The Doublet (Pro-Am) and The Charity Team Challenge, to be held in June and September, respectively.
Surrey’s outstanding natural beauty and perceived wealth mask increasingly high levels of social deprivation. TWF has recognised its role within the local community and the need to continue to actively engage with and support small local charities who work tirelessly to meet the needs of the entire community.
We want Members to feel proud of and connect with the work TWF does. We are acutely aware that all Members have their own charitable causes to support. However, our aspiration is that even more Members support the events that the Club organise, and we hope all new Members are as motivated as we are to get involved, either by participation, offering auction prizes or even just getting the word out and about of the great work TWF does.
